  9. Doug says:

Hi, I co-signed for a nephew. He married into the family and had fathered three children with my niece. He had property he was trying to sell and asked me to co-sign for his student loan. He promised to pay it back when the property sold. I signed the property sold, finished his course, got a job, fathered a fourth child, quit his job, now getting a divorce and he refuses to pay student loan or child support. He refuses to even get a job at all. He is being supported by a new girl friend. How do I help my niece and my self in paying back the student loan. She can’t afford it and neither can I. I trusted this guy as did my niece an now we both are stuck, especially me. Are there any grants or assistance programs that will help pay this debt? 40k plus.

  10. Doug says:

Ex-nephew has skipped on his loan, I had co-signed believing he would repay student loan. Are there any grants that can help me so I don’t loose my home??

  11. Sally Croft says:

@ Doug: I feel sorry to hear about this all, but this is a legal thing & I would advice you to check with a good attorney.
