What will be my life after graduation?
|
John a freshman at St. Edwards University was sitting in the college garden after he was done with his phonetics class for the day. It was spring time and he enjoyed the sight of those bright flowers and the cool breeze which gave a sensuous touch on his face. He was alone and preferred to be so after a hectic day of classes. Tired of discussions and too much of subjects for the day, he lied down on that fresh green grass in the garden trying to stretch himself a bit and was fast asleep. It was now that John had one of those wildest dreams of his life. It was fun as I describe it, but it was one of those terrible dreams he ever had. He dreamt of sitting at home on his favorite couch with a tin full of Pringles, munching them away as he was watching is favorite talk show on television. All of a sudden there was darkness all around; minutes later he realized that there was power cut and tried walking out of his house just to get some breeze. To his amazement he found his house surrounded by thousands of huts and all poor and old people walking around. He found every face down the road very familiar. He felt as if he was walking among the most familiar people around him. ![]() He stopped for a minute and focused at a man sitting on a broken chair and smoking away his cigar. It was none other than his school senior Thomas. He was old and lived in the ugliest huts ever. The moment John identified he introduced himself and asked what made him so old and poverty stricken. Pat came the reply, Thomas said his happy days ended with his graduation and repaying his school loan liabilities was so tiresome and consuming that led to his current state of living. He also revealed that every other oldie on the road where his school mates who failed to follow their counselors advice to plan for their loan repayment. Unable to bear the shock John threw his tin of Pringles down and ran to his room to see himself on his dressing mirror, just before he could see himself, he found somebody calling him and pulling him by his shoulders. He just woke up to find it was none other than Thomas, young and handsome. He had just come to remind John of their meeting with the counselor to discuss about the Student Loan and their repayment strategies. John was perplexed, he was shocked at the same time was happy that it was just a dream and they can plan and work for a better tomorrow. All through his way to the counselor’s room, he kept laughing at those faces, especially of Thomas, but deep inside he was determined never to encounter such a situation in his life. |

Woww…what a way to alarm students about the situation after graduation. Like John, even I don’t want to experience such pathetic conditions after my graduation.
