Author Sally Croft Date February 27th, 2009 Comments 4 Comments
It’s Recession Time

Life has been messy around. The so called financial meltdown has left no stone unturned. It is indeed a horrible time. Companies have closed, people have lost their jobs, and prices of essential commodities have gone up, many business activities have come to a stand still due to lack of funds. You can just hear one slogan all around the world “no money, cause its recession time”. The blood stream of the entire world of business has frozen with disappearing liquidity. No developments, no business ventures, no promotions, no increments. The magnitude of the downtrend is unimaginable. Life is just the same except that people have no money. What can you think of doing when your salaries are nearly lost with job cuts? Imagine the plight of those who are salaried employees and have incurred huge liabilities based on their salaries? Don’t you think it is devastating? The best one can think of doing at this point in time is to hold on to your job and make your self more deserving with further studies.

Recession Time is Study Time…..?

Well is that making you wonder when I say recession time is study time? The aftermath of recession is indeed devastating, what is that you can think of doing about it now?

Only the best survive. People with better qualifications and talent alone survive such a storm. So its time for us to better equip ourselves with more degrees and specializations.

Is the very thought of college education frightening you? It is but natural with the cost of education one has to incur to attend a regular college. There are a number of colleges which specifically aim at providing the academic core required to complete the college education. Of course there are complaints that students miss out on their other extra curricular activities which are a part of a residential college education such as state of the art food courts, fitness centre, brand new dorms and leafy quads surrounding the college campus. How do you get all this? Pay for it! Yes you pay for all these facilities which amount to twice as much as your regular fees.

How to survive the high cost of education?

Students of residential colleges pay $25,000 every year to be a part of the establishment. What about students who cannot afford an expensive education? Should they go without it? Obviously not. Such facilities I doubt whether they improve the quality of education, they surely drive the price up.

Cut-rate Campus

Quite a rarity but Southern New Hampshire University has acquired a unique approach to impart quality education at very nominal tuition cost of just $10,000 a year, recently reported by The Boston Globe. This college is started with the main purpose to provide education required to complete graduate studies leaving behind all other additional amenities promised by state of art college campuses. With campuses in Salem or Nashua these colleges are meant for students who agree to live at their place and attend college education in the campus. They pay a tution fee of $10,000 a year instead of $25,000 a year saving thousands of dollars.

I am sure parents and students who struggle to pay the ever soaring prices of college fees are definitely happy with this change. How do you see this? Please write to me to share your thoughts.

I know what your mean. In today’s economy its tough to find a job that pays good and is stable . I have discovered that if you just work hard and are consistent you can succeed. Look at the author of this page , they are obviously hard working and have just been consistent over time and are now enjoying at least what would appear as somewhat of a success. I would encourage everyone to just keep hustling and moving forward.
