My Online Degree Experience

Author: Sally Croft

Online degree program is the way to go if you do not have the time to attend classes on a regular basis. Unlike traditional degree program where you need to go to the college itself in order to attend classes, in an online degree program you can attend classes from the comfort of your living room through Internet.

Job promotion:

If you are already working somewhere then after earning an online degree, you will get the promotion in your present job. This happens because your knowledge base and academic qualification increased when you manage to earn an online degree successfully. But to get a job promotion, it is of paramount importance that you earn a degree from an accredited university.

Study material:

In an Online Degree Program, you do not need to prepare notes as most of the online universities provide study material to their students. While getting study material from the university is definitely going to help you in your studies, it is advisable that you also study with text book, as it will give you more comprehensive knowledge of the various topics.

Online Degrees
Accreditation:

Online degree program is all about accreditation. If the online degree that you have earned is not accredited, it is not going to help you in your career. The pivotal factor here is that employers reject job application of the individuals whose degree is not accredited in nature. To check the accreditation of the university, contact the US Department of Education and also talk with the students that are already enrolled in the university.

Fees:

In comparison to traditional degree program, the fees of Online Degree Program are quite low. So if you are struggling financially and cannot afford the high tuition costs of traditional degree program, you have an option of going for an online degree program.

Online Education – the Career Advantage

Hi friends!! Today I wish to talk about one of my close friends Rebecca and how Online Degree has changed her life. I am narrating her experience in first person voice for better understanding of her situation. This is how Rebecca goes like: I am a very simple person. I had a very interesting yet simple childhood. I had accepted everything what life had given me except for the fact that I could not complete my graduation.

The reasons are many, financial crisis, unexpected medical emergencies and the well known debt. Being the third in the family my priorities where slightly overlooked. I should not blame my parents. All I could say is that they did their best. But with fixed means of income they could not have done better.

After completing my secondary school exams I worked with an agency for a paltry sum. Though the work was demanding it was equally interesting. Recognizing my interest and efficiency I was promoted. The good thing was that I earned twice as much I earned before.

Ray of Hope:

My life was going on a monotonous routine with job and home. Timely advice came from my brother who was a graduate and who did extremely well in his job. He asked me to proceed with my graduation and got me application forms too. You see, I had crossed my age for graduation, I just cannot imagine myself sitting with a group of freshmen and end up facing a sense of humiliation. With all these things in mind I decided to put an end to my dream of graduating.

Career Online Degree

It was out of sheer luck that I came to know about Online Degree through an office colleague. It was indeed interesting to hear the benefits of enrolling for an Online Degree Course. Convenient study timing, study from home, online discussion forums, quality lectures and teaching sessions and flexibility to finish the course as per our ability to meet up the course requirements.

Online Degree – Disciplined Self Study

It just came as a solution to my problem. I wanted to be a little more careful about the Online Institution I would choose; after all I am putting my hard earned money. After much analysis, I enrolled my self for an Online Degree Program.

I was happy with this god given opportunity to complete my graduation, but boy I need lot of self discipline. Strict discipline is needed to come out successfully well. No one will overlook your work. You are both the student and the teacher. You succeed if you work hard; you stay back if you don’t. It was initially very difficult to cope up with both my work and studies, but yes, over the days I learnt to balance them.

Hard Work Pays:

No pain no gain. It was very true in my case. I had to give all I could to graduate. Well hard work pays. I moment I completed my graduation, my career geared up for better opportunities. Luckily the placement offered by the Online University got me one of the best jobs. I had moved levels beyond I dreamt of. Thanks to my old job, it helped my reach my destination.

Thanks to god, thanks to the system of Online Education. Today, I support my family and provide them all they need and even more. So friends, head start your career, with online education and reach your goals. Online Education is the face of new generation, can anyone argue against me?

Crumbling economy driving students to Online Colleges

Author: Sally Croft

Hi one and all! I had been blogging for a while now and have never seen a platform livelier than blog spots. It is the interest that actually keeps us going. Well, talking about blog spots reminds me of an article which I happen to read a Next Student.com post about Down Economy driving students to Online Education and thought, I will work on it as well.

Downtrend in Economy

Economic downturn resulted in a number of untoward happenings like closure of giant companies, consequently leading to joblessness and thereby not enough money to meet even the most basic of necessities. Aspiring students have shifted their focus to Online Education in place of regular colleges according to one of the recent surveys on online education.

While Online Education will surely see a flood of applications, all most all colleges will have more students enrolling for higher learning with an aim to secure their jobs gaining more marketable skills.

A bad economic environment acts as a motivator to students forcing them to go for higher learning programs, which otherwise will result in unemployment.

Why choose Online Colleges for higher studies?

Online education is mainly opted for the advantage it offers over a Regular College. Considering the fact the cost of an online education is not far too less than a regular college, the Online Educational Program is all about accommodating the busy lifestyle of an individual while pursuing his educational program. Flexible online environment enables students to access the classes and session from anywhere in the world wherever the internet facility is available. There is no physical restriction, hence no traveling and no timely attendance.

Again it is not just working from anywhere, you can also log into your classes at any time of the day. If you are busy in the morning, log onto to the session in the evening or night, it actually makes no difference.

The flexibility in timing is one of the most important features that attract professionals and other individuals who are otherwise tied up to their work or home based schedules.

Statistics by Sloan Consortium:

According to the statistics published by Sloan Consortium, an organization funded by Alfred P. Sloan to improve and maintain the quality of distant education, close to twenty percent of the students enrolled for a degree program have enrolled for Online Degree Course.

Of all the colleges, close to 60 percent of them claimed enrollment of students in their online courses was critical for them. With more and more students shifting their focus towards online education, all colleges are gearing up to meet the demand.

What do you think friends…acquiring an Online Degree is going to make a world of difference during current economic crisis? I have shared my feelings, but looking forward to hear your view points too, so don’t forget to share your thoughts with us.

Have a great week ahead!
