But you see I also have the responsibility of reminding you few things which you can’t but go without it. I can see faces :) !!!

Come on students cheer up and welcome the New Year with a lot of enthusiasm and hope to do well in studies, and set a goal to pay off your student loan liability. New Year Resolution

Tips for planning and repaying your Student Loan

  • Repaying the loans taken for completing your education should be repaid on a priority basis.
  • Take stock of all your educational loans and make sure you know when the repayment begins.
  • This enables you to know the entire loan liability and the monthly commitment required to be met.
  • Knowing you monthly liability helps you in analyzing whether the repayment ability will suit the requirement.
  • Look for options which will help you lower the cost of loan and provide you flexibility to repay.
  • Consolidation option helps you consolidate the various loan liabilities into a single commitment by repaying all the existing loans. As per the new federal rules you can consolidate only once.
  • Ask for lender’s discount which will help you lower cost during your grace period.
  • Saving money is the most and best solution to all your financial needs. Lowering cost of loan, saving by way of discounts, improving credit score that will offer further discounts, reducing expenses for future savings thereby reducing the need for further loans are ways to meet your commitment on time.
  • Having a flexible repayment schedule will help you make payments on time, improve your credit record and thereby avail reduction in your prevailing interest rates.
  • Educate yourself on the various options, choose the best deal and prepare well in advance.
  • The real challenge lies in executing a plan that will help you realize your goal. Try it and do share with us your experiences.

A College Student Dream for New Year

Author: Sally Croft

New Year always brings a refreshing start. Everyone believes and expect that a new year always has something new in store for them. It is that time of the year when people are willing to leave behind the past happenings and make way for a new beginning in whatever pursuit they follow. And for students, you don’t have to say, a time for resolutions and excitements to see what the New Year has in store for them.

Day Dreaming

Like any other students where Stephen and John. Best friends who were together right from their kinder garden to college days. While Stephen was responsible and studious, John was a happy go lucky guy, interested in every thing other than studies. Still both managed to accompany each other. It was Stephen (obviously) who was busy searching for the best of scholarships and Student Loans at reasonable interest rates to help them get through college education without much financial strain. He was really working hard in getting even the smallest of details that will reduce the cost of education. A brilliant student in class he never had a problem coping with studies and was always conscious of his goals and policies.

John is a clear contrast to his friend Stephen. He was an average performer in school. His interest was spread across a variety of topics. Ranging from sports, cultural programs and trying out any thing that was new and interesting. Many a times he used to feel sorry for Stephen for his studiousness and the happiness he misses out due to the fault of being very good at studies.

It was holiday time in college. Yes, Christmas and New Year were fast approaching. Even before the holidays could start John was already into the festive mood and has not left even a single stone unturned. Stephen was planning his holiday time. He ensured he made the best use of the opportunity to revise and read widely.

Student Day Dreaming

Both John and Stephen were invited for a New Year’s Day party by one of their college mates. What’s more John was already there and for a change this time he convinced Stephen and pulled him along for the party. It was indeed a wonderful party, not just for the celebrations and the regular surprises; it was also because these friends happened to meet a professor who guided them in obtaining the best of scholarships and education.

A discussion with the professor, made them aware of variety of a scholarship schemes which are suitable to students from varied background and also an insight into the most sought after colleges and the courses offered by them. Inspired by the guidance, both Stephen and John took up New Year Resolution to get into the best of colleges and get the best funding through scholarship schemes. Both the friends did get into the best courses and scholarships, but yes our John always needed that whip from Stephen in achieving the goal ;)
